The clients had talked about starting a new summer camp for many years before we joined the conversation in 2001. There were trips to visit potential sites, and then in 2004 they asked us to develop a concept design for a site at Parker Mountain in Strafford, New Hampshire. It was a Boy Scout camp with minimal facilities, and three years later our project site. We first developed a master-plan, understanding that staff and campers would oversee some of its implementation. Designing the first phase was next, and when the camp opened in 2008 it included a new road, nine new cabins, a new bathroom facility, and a renovated dining hall.
